My quicklaunch tray icons are randomly set upon start-up of my PC. Using Hyperdesk to re-select my theme options fixes the problem, until the PC is shutdown. I don't see that anyone else is having the same trouble. Are there any suggestions that you may have to remedy the issue? PC Details, below:
Intel Core2 Duo
Windows XP Pro, SP3
Visual Studio 2008
Infragistics NetAdvantage 2008
Thanks!

I know the icons refresh when you change a theme but not sure what you mean when they do it in the quick launch icons. I have 3 that i always see and they never move.

When I boot my PC, the icons for shortcuts within my quicklaunch tray (near the Start button) are set to random icon images. A shortcut to Outlook may have the icon usually associated with Outlook Express. The icon for a shortcut to Internet Explorer may be set to the system icon which represents a jpeg image. In order to figure out what the shortcut is associated with, I need to hover over it, and wait for the tooltip. It's a random crap-shoot everytime I boot my PC. The system tray and desktop shortcuts are fine.

That's really strange. All my quickview icons are the ones that go with their application and i change themes constantly. I'm also running this on a Dell and 2 Macs that all use Boot Camp and nothing like that has happened. There are so many variables involved with an OS and what applications you have installed that i wouldn't know where to begin to start. I'll ask our coder about it.

Thanks for looking into it, Jesh. I'll try disabling and re-enabling the quicklaunch tray, and re-adding the shortcuts I need.

I'm having the exact same thing happen so don't feel alone. I have the WALLe hypersuite and am running Windows XP and Office 2007.

Karen, your quickview icons are doing what exactly?

Hi, was there any solution to the random icon issue? I am contemplating purchasing Hyperdesk but if it has a frequent habit of putting up random icon images over previously correct quick launch icons, as well as any icon for that matter, then I can't justify purchasing an unstable product?
Many thanks and I hope all of these issues are solved/solvable Phill.

We can't seem to replicate the issue, which makes it harder for us to fix. I think its a rare occurrence. If you want to email me i'll send you the free Sony Ericsson theme and you can test it out. You can email me at jschader (at) theskinsfactory dot com
